Dr. Cam Simmons, who founded the Canadian Hair Transplant Centre as medical director in 2006, has performed nearly 4,000 hair transplants since 1999. Having practiced medicine for 20 years, with a background in emergency and family medicine, he brings the patient focused approach learned during those years to hair transplantation, producing superior hair transplant outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Simmons has a passion for ensuring that he provides the right treatment for the right person. He takes into account the individual medical and personal needs of each of his individual patients, to the point that he will recommend no treatment should he believe that the patient would not benefit from hair transplant surgery.
He is one of only 138 Diplomates of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, the highest certification available to hair transplant surgeons, and is an active contributor and author in hair transplant journals and textbooks.
In February 2009 he became a recommended physician of the Hair transplant Network, and a recommended Physician in the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians in December 2009. Dr. Simmons recieved his degree in medicine from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in 1985 and became a certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 1987.
Today, Dr. Simmons is a member in good standing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and the Ontario and Canadian Medical Associations (OMA, CMA).
Personally, Dr. Simmons enjoys academic and creative pursuits, his profession allows him to utilise these passions on a daily basis. He also enjoys soccer, music, skiing, snowboarding, and the theater.
